Spain reaches a new employment milestone
Spain's Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration reported that foreign workers represented more than 15% of all social-security contributors in June 2026. Their number exceeded 3.4 million after increasing by more than 350,000 over the previous year.

Spain recorded more than 22.4 million employed people in June, adding 621,925 contributors during the first half of 2026. The ministry described the month as one of the strongest Junes in the historical series.
