What you need
| Licence | The category for the vehicle, for example C or CE for trucks |
|---|---|
| Code 95 | EU mark showing you hold the qualification and periodic training |
| Where it appears | On your licence, on a driver qualification card, or on a driver attestation |
| Driver attestation | Proof for non-EU drivers working for an EU haulier |
How the attestation works
An EU-based haulier obtains the driver attestation for its non-EU driver. It carries code 95 in its remarks section once you meet the requirements. It shows your qualification, but it does not replace your work permit or residence permit.
Questions for the employer
Will my licence be accepted?
Many countries limit how long a foreign licence is valid. See the German rule as an example.
Who pays for code 95 training?
Ask if it is paid by the employer and whether you repay it if you leave.
Which country is my contract in?
Pay and tax follow your contract, not only where you drive.
Which permit will I get?
Get the exact permit type in writing.
