Work in Europe without a degree: an honest map
Many adverts promise easy jobs in Europe. In reality the door is open in some countries, narrow in others and closed in a few. Here is the map as of November 2026.

Country by country

|---|---|
| Germany, Western Balkans | Any job for six nationalities, with a quota |
| Spain | Employer route, harder for jobs not on the hard-to-fill list |
| Italy | Yearly quotas, click days, seasonal and non-seasonal |
| Poland | Type A and seasonal type S permits through the employer |
| Romania | Yearly quota, heavy demand |
| Croatia | Labour market test or exempt occupation |
| Czechia | Employee card for vacancies in the central register |
| Finland | Employed person permit from €1,600 a month gross |
| Hungary | Guest worker route closed to new applicants since June 2026 |
| UK | Skilled Worker route needs eligible jobs and high pay, so most lower-paid work does not fit |
| Switzerland | Only qualified workers, inside a small quota |
| Netherlands | Main route is salary-based. Lower-paid jobs are hard |
| Sweden | High salary floor. Some listed jobs at a lower limit |
What this tells you
- Almost every route starts with a real employer. You rarely apply alone.
- Quotas fill up and rules change. Hungary closed its route in a single day.
- A job offer from a country marked as hard needs extra checking.
- "No degree" does not mean "no requirements". Pay, contract and permit still have to fit the rules.
